Preserving the record of the July Revolution
The July Archive is a bilingual (English/Bengali) archive preserving primary source material from the July 2024 revolution in Bangladesh. Built with strict neutrality standards, the archive is designed for researchers, journalists, and historians. It features an AI-queryable interface powered by RAG technology, allowing users to search and explore the archive using natural language queries across both languages.
Strict neutrality
Answers and metadata are source-grounded. The archive presents multiple perspectives, attributes claims to their sources rather than asserting them as fact, surfaces contradictions, and takes no political side. Editorial neutrality is checked again at publication.
Bilingual & cross-lingual
Everything works across English and Bengali. A question in one language surfaces sources in the other; quoted material is given in its original language alongside a faithful translation.
Primary sources, with provenance
Each record carries provenance, capture-time, verification status, and mandatory attribution — and is preserved with a fixity checksum and a stable persistent identifier (ARK).
For researchers
The published corpus is openly available for programmatic access and harvesting. Every record propagates its attribution into citations, the API, and OAI-PMH.
