Rapper Hannan freed
This news article from The Daily Star (Bangladesh) reports that rapper Hannan Hossain Shimul was released on bail by the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court of Narayanganj, following his arrest on July 25 in the Bhuighor area. He had been arrested in connection with student protests against the Awami League government, with cultural figures alleging his detention was due to his rebellious rap song "Awaaz Utha." His release came the day after the fall of Sheikh Hasina's regime on August 5, as the court granted bail to all those arrested in relation to the student protests.
