This is a first-person memoir published on the July Archive (জুলাই আর্কাইভ) website, written by Sabbir Ahmed, a student of Islamic History and Culture at Dhaka University from Sherpur, Bogura. The article, published November 1, 2024, recounts his personal experience of participating in and being injured during the July 2024 student uprising in Bangladesh. The account details his participation in protests from July 2–17, 2024, including the pivotal events of July 15–17 when Chhatra League (the ruling party's student wing) violently attacked protesters at Dhaka University, injuring hundreds of students. He describes being ambushed and beaten with sticks on the street near Kataban by Chhatra League members while attempting to leave campus — an attack he later identified as being led by Abu Yunus, the Chhatra League General Secretary of Bijoy Ekattor Hall. After the attack, he sought medical treatment at a hospital in Kalyanpur, spent over a week recovering at his aunt's home during a government-imposed curfew, and ultimately returned to Bogura to recuperate — before rejoining protests there, which eventually led to the fall of the government.
